Help Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie raise $1,000,000 in its "Brick by Brick" fundraising campaign! CLC in partnership with The YogaBeat is seeking private donors & corporate and community sponsors to help raise funds to restore and renovate the historic Salvation Army Citadel building for the community of Regent Park. Cash and in-kind support are needed. Sponsors will have an opportunity to sponsor specific rooms in the new facility, elevate their public profile, and support the diverse and revitalized community of Regent Park. For as little as $25, you can help us build a safe and stable environment where we can provide the people of Regent Park with quality arts programs and enhanced yoga programming. Like most historic Toronto buildings, The Citadel features brick construction. We're restoring the exterior and keeping a beautiful full-height interior brick wall as the backdrop for the studio theatre.
For a tax-deductible donation of $25, you can sponsor a brick and become a Friend of the Citadel, helping to sustain our initiatives and create support for the revitalization of Regent Park. Your donation will be acknowledged in our website and social media. It's a small donation with a big impact!

Create a team! Everyone in your group will get a tax-deductible receipt, plus rewards listed below.
Sponsor 2 to 10 bricks (at $25 each): Juliette Coleman will make one cupcake for each brick your team sponsors and Jimmy Coleman will lead a scheduled tour of the building. Your contribution will be recognized on a plaque in the building, on the website, and via social media.
11 to 20 bricks: Team leader will be invited to a cast party, plus the above.
21 to 30 bricks: The team leader receives CLC tote bag, book, DVD, and the team members will receive the rewards above.

About the Citadel
The Toronto studios of the internationally renowned dance artists of Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie, the Citadel is home to both CLC's groundbreaking theatrical and community-based work, and to the YogaBeat, a CLC initiative which offers 'pay what you can' yoga classes specifically for new and returning residents of Regent Park as well as for Toronto's dance and yoga communities.
Mission
- To ensure that high-quality dance and yoga experiences are accessible to the people of Regent Park and beyond, whatever their background or circumstances
- To engage professionals and experts in the fields of dance and yoga to work alongside community leaders in Regent Park in providing a well-informed range of activities and programming
- To create a safe space in which to engage a uniquely diverse demographic of youth, artists, and families through performances by master artists, community-based site-specific events, outreach activities and workshops, and ongoing classes on a 'pay-what-you-can' basis
About Coleman Lemieux Compagnie
Founded in Quebec in 2000 by individually renowned dancers/choreographers (and husband and wife) Bill Coleman and Laurence Lemieux, Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie (CLC) has distinguished itself by its innovative, unbridled artistic vision. The company's range encompasses:
- emotionally honest, artistically innovative stage productions featuring some of Canada's finest dancers, choreographed by Coleman and Lemieux and by James Kudelka, CLC's Choreographer in Residence — shows which have taken the company throughout Canada and to the United States, China, Russia, Mongolia and Brazil;
- and spectacular, large-scale, site-specific events in such locations as rural Saskatchewan, coastal Newfoundland, urban Winnipeg, the Mongolian steppes and CLC's home neighbourhood of Regent Park, Toronto — created in collaboration with internationally recognized artists and local community residents.
- In 2007, CLC invested in the 1912 Salvation Army Citadel building as their new home. Located in the heart of Toronto's diverse Regent Park neighbourhood, Coleman and Lemieux soon found themselves part of one of the most exciting community renewals in the world — a unique opportunity to integrate the arts directly into urban change.
- CLC has been actively engaged, working directly with developers The Daniels Corporation, as well as through local agencies, community-based arts and media organizations and schools, and more informally through personal contacts.
- In 2009, CLC launched an ambitious project to renovate and substantially improve The Citadel. With the assistance of Diamond + Schmitt Architects, Bartlett & Associates LTD, the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the City of Toronto, and many generous individual donors and corporations, the team is working towards completion in the fall of 2011.
About the YogaBeat
The YogaBeat, operating from within the Citadel, is an initiative offering 'pay what you can' yoga classes for new and returning residents of Regent Park as well as for Toronto's broader yoga community.
The activities of the YogaBeat will focus on:
- Local needs as well as the connection of Regent Park with the wider GTA
- The belief that yoga — which promotes awareness in the body through movement and a quieting of the mind through meditation — will effect positive change in the quality of life of those who experience it.
- An emphasis on acceptance and openness
